After a pause, return to publish an amendment that I am preparing to implement right last night: the elimination of leverage on the suspension.
The reason? First, because direct action is always better than one "mirror", and then suffer because the leverage of a "game" that affect the stability of the medium. It is sufficient just to touch the sides to swing it, and that during crawling delays the intervention of the shock absorbers work only by the springs. It must be said that the torsion bars very mitigate this problem, but on the other hand, decreased the ability to twist the middle, so ...
The elimination of the levers on which they are anchored cushions door immediately to the first problem: where to attach? The tank, above all, is attached at the top, a position not sympathetic to the center of gravity factor, but an obligation to prevent the tires will rub when cornering. The opposite, however, the shock must be anchored directly to the deck instead of leverage. The front shocks
are installed directly on the frame (see photo attached), while the rear of the castle are the engine, the difference between the two hooks inability to mount depends on the amount of gil earlier post as, on the same hook, insist the link above.
The problem that now arises is that the top of the front remains external to the hooking down, literally risking bending the finger rod: the spacers on which were anchored before the change do the job. But at this juncture we must reverse the cap, that little metal cylinder inside the plastic of the shock of engagement: to be inserted with the cap (the most large) to the frame: this will ensure a minimum player shock preventing this bend.
The rear, however, are anchored directly to the castle of the engine immediately next to the links above, without spacers.
further problem: the medium tends to "bounce" back, while the front is slightly harder. The two are sistuazioni divute to different corners of action of shock compared to the factory configuration: the more the shock is vertical to the bridge, most will be hard at work. Fortunately, the CR-01 factory provides different springs at the front than the rear: the front and back harder, softer. Well, simply reverse them and you're done.
This will also solve another problem: the half-sat too high in case of slope or sudden acceleration.
The behavior is much more stable now, the frame "dancing" and not even on bumpy trip twist not affected. It 's true that we lost a few tens of grams, and this would not be good, but fortunately we have the opportunity to recover otherwise, craft or not to be.
I hope that this change fits your driving style, but the means will be affected positively. I leave you as always with the Picasa album where you can see the different points of attack. At
next.
